We spent one night at Kihlangi Old School and enjoyed it very much! The building is spectacular with many retro details. It really has got a lot of atmosphere and personality. The hosts are great and the most delicious breakfast was included in the price. The room was spacious and clean and there was a fully equipped kitchen available. Right behind the guesthouse is a small lake perfect for a swim. In the garden some reindeers strolled around and in the morning we met dem right outside the front door! We' d love to visit it again and very much recommend it to other travellers!

What a lovely find! Found it by accident while driving to Kilpisjärvi and needed a place to stay for the night. The surrounding was full of fun and interesting details and you just want to tell everyone what a nice place this is. Breakfast was also really nice! Definitely will come back if I’m ever in the area again.

Only recommendations!! The owners were incredibly kind and friendly. The breakfast was healthy yet very tasty. We could use snowshoes and a 100-year-old sauna for free.

For our last night, they even made pancakes as a dessert, which was a lovely touch. The place used to be an old school, but they renovated it, making it really cool and cozy.

There is little light pollution, and behind the accommodation, there is a huge lake, which is a great spot for Northern Lights hunting. The location is very quiet yet close to the main route, about 2 hours and 30 minutes from RVN Airport.

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again!

Unser Urlaub im Old School Guesthouse im März war sehr schön! Das Zimmer war toll, mit schönem Ausblick und die Unterkunft gemütlich Eingerichtet mit Auge fürs Detail! Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam und haben uns viele tolle grössere und kleinere Aktivitäten und schöne Momente ermöglicht! Vielen Dank - wir würden das Guest House definitiv weiterempfehlen!

Le charme de la rusticité !

Un coin vraiment charmant, une chambre d'hôte dans une ancienne école. Un mixe entre souvenir d'enfance et revanche sur la vie, reculé de la ville idéal pour les baroudeurs avec la partie dortoir et pour ceux qui veulent plus de confort vous pouvez opter pour la chambre double avec une vue incroyable sur le lac. Pour se détendre vous pouvez aller marcher en forêt ou aller au sauna, autant pour moi dans l'un des deux saunas. Un compromis idéal entre le confort et le rustique, avec Viktor et Pauline qui vous accueilleront chaleureusement et vous prépareront un petit déjeuner copieux idéal pour débuter la journée pour découvrir ce magnifique pays.

What an amazing place! Remote and surrounded by forest, yet reachable by public transport (Kolari has a train station from where a bus departs).

Pauline and Viktor are very kind and caring. I accidentally left my jacket in the garden and found it back half an hour later inside on the coat hanger. They have an eye for detail which you can notice in the way the place has been lovingly furnished. Breakfast is amazing.

While there I saw a black woodpecker, the trail of an arctic hare and the hosts pointed me to a spot with reindeer. I could explore the surroundings with their snowshoes and had a round of sauna. I wish I could've stayed longer, thanks Pauline and Viktor!

J'ai passé plusieurs nuits très agréables au gîte bien équipée et confortable de Pauline et Viktor cet hiver !
Le séjour a été super, des raquettes et des luges sont disponibles. Les alentours et le lac à proximité offrent de belles vues, notamment avec les lever et coucher de soleil. Les petits déjeuners sont tout simplement incroyables, merci pour les découvertes 😉
Les saunas offrent différentes expériences intéressantes !
