I cannot express how much we LOVED Nivunki village! If you're looking for off the beaten track, and an authentic Lapish experience before the uptick in tourism around Lapland started, this is the place to go! It is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. The kotas (accomodation) you sleep in are lovely and are perfectly situated to watch the northern lights at night. You can tell there was great detail put into the entire place. The food was impeccably and locally sourced...a very traditional Lapish menu. and the staff! we felt like we knew them by the end of our trip 🙂 Shout out to Miia and Helena for assisting us with our stay and booking our activities. Nina (or Nini), our fabulous waitress who always greeted us with a smile and was overall just so nice to chat to every night. And of course our two tour guides Antti and Atte! Kittos for teaching us the true meaning of Lapish and Sami culture and for taking us ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more!

We'll never forget our trip to Nivunki village and hope to be back again some day 🙂

I’m pretty sure Nivunki Village will be fully booked the whole next season. The team is just amazing! Everybody of the team! The people in the restaurant, the tours, the reception, everybody makes sure you have the best stay. The food is exceptional, lots of local products and just super good! The rooms have everything you need, they aren’t too big, but I think you don’t need a big room. We did all our activities with them. Once there was one other couple at the activity and once two other couples and two activities we were the only couple. So it doesn’t feel like mass tourism. Also the other guests were chilled and nice.
I was scared that the sauna would be packed in the public hours, but that wasn’t the case at all.
I have so much more to write about how much I liked our stay here. I hope Nivunki village stays as good as it is. We will come back next year!

Wow, what a place! Nivunki Village exceeded our expectations in every way with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and staff who work super-hard to ensure everyone is well looked after and comfortable. The food is top-class as is the accommodation, and the winter clothing they provide is premium quality. The reindeer, huskies, snowmobiling and ice-bathing were all excellent experiences in a beautiful setting. To top it all, we were lucky enough to have a spectacular show of the Northern Lights to complete our fabulous trip. Thank you!

Incredible few nights and days here. All the people looking after us were a joy; always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone gave off a vibe that they love Lapland and being a part of this beautiful environment.
Because it's totally adult-orientated, the atmosphere was always calm. All the other guests we met were chilled and just enjoying the relaxed pace of things.
We were supplied with quality outdoor clothing for all excursions, just bring thermals and a swimsuit (and courage...) for the sauna.

We had the greatest time, and to crown it all, we were lucky to have witnessed a breath-taking aurora display on the last night.

A perfect few days. Dump the kids with the in-laws and get on a plane to Kittilä.....

Booked Nivunki Village on a leap of faith with barely any reviews and we’re so glad we did. Thoughtfully designed, unpretentious and blends beautifully with nature and culture. It felt like home. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the little details made all the difference. Will definitely be back.

The best trip we've ever been on. The Kotas are so nice and cozy. There's nothing like sleeping under the trees. Everything about our stay was amazing but especially the staff. They really make sure that you are looked after. If you're thinking about booking, DO IT and book some activities too!||The guides are such great people and are very knowledgeable. You will have fun and learn interesting things too! You will have an amazing time with them for sure.||We will be back!

We went for a week at Nivunki Village with a willingness to disconnect from the daily turmoil, find a peaceful place where you could see the undisturbed nature. This was Nivunki Village's first season, we were less than 15 people in total, feeling like we were alone. The service is incredible, the food is very good, diverse and local. The location allows to benefit from all the activities you like in Lapland that they organize for you but you have also the liberty to take your snowshoes and walk from the Kota's for hours creating your own tracks on the lack or in the forest, seeing animals and feeling like in a white desert. I can only highly recommend Nivunki Village!
As the weather was cloudy the whole time, we did not have a chance to see the Northern lights but we did not have to have this excuse to come back again at Nivunki Village.
