The hotel rooms are beautiful and unique. The Rakas restaurant was excellent. We were surprised, however, that the location is very close to the Santa Claus park, which was not a plus for us. If you are looking for wilderness, this is not it! Also, we were disappointed that the sauna required 3+ hours notice and hefty fee for use. We still had fun, but a few things were disappointing.

This hotel is honestly a tourist trap. Please don’t confuse expensive with luxury. This is far from a luxury property; it is only unduly expensive.

The staff at reception are poorly trained in both their own policies and general customer service.

When booking through Hyatt, the number of people allowed per booking is fixed at 1. If you try to book for more people, it will not allow you. It also does not allow you to modify to add more people. Why? Because then this hotel tries to charge you €75 extra per night per person for any people staying in addition to the 1 person. Even if you book a 2-bedroom house with a listed occupancy of 6, you will need to spend €75 extra per person for the additional 5 people.

The service is not professional nor personalized. Again, this is not a luxury property. Management here should be sent to the Storfjord Hotel, also a Mr. & Mrs. Smith property in Norway, if they want to learn how to provide a luxury, personalized experience.

The glasshouse is directly facing trees, blocking any possible view of the sky. Also, the artificial light pollution from the city nearby is strong. And the chairs in the deck are so uncomfortable, they would be better used for firewood.

This hotel is not remote or in the woods like the pictures show. It is not a nature experience. You are right off a major highway and all you hear is cars and trucks. Not a peaceful experience.

The only saving grace is the restaurant which has wonderful staff and food.

I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me to.

Het hotel en de kamers liggen verspreid op een heuvel en tussen de bomen. Vlakbij de luchthaven en het centrum van Rovaniemi en vlak naast Santapark.
Centraal ligt de receptie en Rakas, van hieruit heb je shuttles naar je kamer (gratis).
De omgeving is prachtig. Je hebt prachtige zichten op de besneeuwde bomen.
Je kan er mooi wandelen, op de paden of alternatieve sneeuwroutes zoeken tussendoor.
Voor de kids is er een hele coole hoge sleeheuvel (slee gratis ter beschikking tijdens verblijf), en er zijn ook 2 kabelbanen.
Het ontbijt en diner in Rakas zijn uitstekend.
De bediening is ook zeer vriendelijk en hoffelijk. Sommige avonden is er live pianomuziek bij het diner, dat geeft toch nog een extra leuke vibe.
Wij genoten erg van ons verblijf, zowel ik als de kids.
Het hotel scoort op veel vlakken goed, maar voor die prijs mag dat zeker ook wel.
Dat we een avond van op ons terras het Noorderlicht zagen was de kers op de taart.
Als ik minpuntjes moet noemen:
Aan de receptie is niet iedereen even vriendelijk, ook niet onder de chauffers;
bij sommigen kan er geen lach af
(Op dat vlak een groot verschil met de medewerkers bij Rakas)
+ het hotel ligt dichtbij een drukke weg, en je hoort het verkeer wel.

Enttäuschend bei dem Preisniveau

Das Arctic TreeHouse Hotel wirkt auf den ersten Blick wie ein Traum – stilvoll gestaltete Zimmer mit Panoramafenstern inmitten der verschneiten Natur. Leider blieb es bei der Idee, denn in der Umsetzung fehlt es an vielen Stellen.

Das Frühstück war enttäuschend: viele Fertigprodukte – selbst das Rührei –, kaum Abwechslung, Obst zum Teil unsauber vorbereitet (mit Schale geschnitten). Die "à la carte"-Option bestand nur aus wenigen Eierspeisen – ohne Karte oder Hinweis, dass man danach fragen kann.

Das Badezimmer ist für den Anspruch des Hauses viel zu klein. Es fehlt erheblich an Abstellfläche, was bei mehreren Personen sehr unpraktisch ist. Zudem war die Toilettenpapierhalterung so ungünstig angebracht, dass die Rolle ständig herunterfiel – ein unnötig ärgerliches Detail.

Die Sauna ist nicht inklusive, obwohl der Übernachtungspreis einem 5-Sterne-Haus entspricht – absolut unangemessen. Zudem gibt es dort keine Toilette – sehr unpraktisch, wenn man zurück zum eigenen Bungalow muss. Das Hauptgebäude besteht im Wesentlichen nur aus Lobby und Restaurant. Weitere Aufenthaltsbereiche oder Freizeitangebote sucht man vergeblich. Einzige Aktivitäten: ein Rodel- und ein Tubing-Hang. Schuhe zum Ausleihen für die Eisbahn gab es nur in kleineren Größen – bei dem Preis eigentlich unverständlich.

Großer Minuspunkt auch bei der Zimmervergabe: Trotz frühzeitiger Buchung (fast ein Jahr im Voraus) bekamen wir als Gruppe mit Kind keine nebeneinanderliegenden Bungalows. Auch das wirkt nicht sehr serviceorientiert. Generell wirkte das Personal eher distanziert – freundlich, aber ohne besondere Herzlichkeit oder Engagement.

Fazit: Eine schöne Idee mit viel Potenzial, aber leider fehlt es an Komfort, Service und durchdachten Details, die man bei diesem Preisniveau einfach erwarten darf. Für uns leider keine Empfehlung – Preis-Leistung stimmt hier schlichtweg nicht.

Nous avons séjourné la nuit dernière à l’Artic Tree House après 5 nuits à Pyhä Lusto.
Nous avons été très déçus de la chambre que nous avons payé un certain prix (937€!). Nous avons trouvé la chambre assez petite et la salle e bain très petite avec une douche pas du tout à la hauteur des étoiles et du prix.
Par ailleurs, je ne sais pas si c’est lié à l’emplacement de notre cottage (le 28) mais nous étions juste en face du chemin et donc beaucoup de vis à vis avec le passage. De notre chambre nous pouvions voir les lampadaires qui donnaient sur la route à quelques centaines de mètre. Le pire est que nous étions en face de la piste d’atterrissage de l’Aéroport de Rovaniemi. Nous avons donc entendu à plusieurs reprises (et le matin à 5h23 - CF photo). Nous espérions une expérience très immersive dans la nature mais ce n’était absolument pas le cas.
Par ailleurs nous avons rencontré quelques soucis avec la télé. L’équipe a été réactive mais ils n’ont pas réussi à régler entièrement le problème et visiblement ce n’était pas dérangeant pour eux.
Enfin, dans la chambre vous n’avez pas accès au thermostat, vous devez donc envoyer un message à l’accueil afin qu’ils modifient à distance. La chambre était bien trop chaude à notre arrivée. Nous avons dû les contacter à deux reprises pour pouvoir modifier cela.

Les points positifs : le restaurant et le petit déjeuner qui étaient excellents.

Conclusion : très cher pour ce que c’est et très touristique. Si vous cherchez quelque chose de vraiment immersif dans la nature, il est préférable de s’éloigner.

Tek kelimeyle harika! Daha önce dünyanın her yerinde zincir lüks otellerde kalmama rağmen, burası kadar beğendiğim yer çok az olmuştur. Housekeeping muhteşem, temizlik 10 puan. Kahvaltısı ve akşam yemeği için Rakas Restaurant çok iyiydi. Kesinlikle parasını hakediyor, o bölgedeki en iyi otellerden biri. Her şey için çok teşekkürler, umarım bi gün tekrar geliriz 🙂

First of all the rooms are really tiny and there are many options in Rovianiemi which are better properties bigger rooms and better rates.

Recently had a very bad experience with the property of Arctic tree house.
We booked it four months in advance at double the rate.
Suddenly when we check in we saw that the price is half of what we had paid.

We asked for an upgrade for the experience we had but the management and staff were not at all helpful even though the Executive room was available at the price we paid they were not ready to help.

I took this up with the property and they were not able to help with my problem.

We earlier had asked for a Price match but we even gave them an option of a room upgrade….The room that we were looking for was priced the same as the room we had paid for.

Concluding here please don’t be fooled with the names like suite which is actually 1 tiny room.

Hoping no other guest have to face this issue like us.

Please be careful before booking with Arctic tree house hotels at Lapland.
