I stayed here from February 6th to 8th, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the middle of a vast pine forest, this boutique wellness retreat offers both luxury and seclusion. But what truly set it apart were the incredible hosts, Michelle and Dennis.
From the moment I arrived, they made everything seamless. I booked my stay and activities through Niina from Sixty Eight North, and upon arrival, Michelle and Dennis welcomed me warmly, making it easy to settle in. When my baggage was lost in transit, they immediately helped me file a claim and ensured I received it the next day—a level of care that made a real difference.
My A-frame cabin was beautifully designed, with interiors that had a very earthy, natural feel, blending perfectly with the forest surroundings. It featured a private terrace and fireplace, with large windows offering stunning views of the trees. The space was both luxurious and thoughtfully curated, providing complete privacy—just me, the forest, and the occasional squirrels and birds.
A standout moment was the kota dinner, at a kota build by the owners with so much love poured into it. I was transported by snowmobile sledge to a cozy cabin deeper in the forest. Michelle served an incredible halloumi burger, followed by a dessert of fire-toasted apples crumble with caramel and cream. Everything was well-organized, from pick-ups to transfers, making the experience effortless.
I also booked a day trip to the Levi viewpoint and Sami museum, with Erkki as my guide, arranged by the Sixty Eight North team. They offered plenty of other activities, but I chose to spend most of my time at the cabin, simply unwinding and taking in the magic that surrounded me.
The forest sauna was another highlight. Completely secluded in the woods, with a private sauna and hot tub, it was the perfect way to relax and disconnect. The sauna and hot tub offer views of pine forest and beautiful nature ASMR. You also get to have Michelle’ home made cookies.
One unexpected delight was the toiletries—some of the best I’ve ever used. I loved them so much that I even ordered some to take back home with me. They had the coziest linens and bedding.
Beyond all of this, what makes this retreat even more special is its story—Michelle and Dennis bought the land and built on this pine forest to save it from industrial felling, preserving its beauty and ensuring others could experience its tranquility.
What truly made this stay remarkable was Michelle and Dennis’s hospitality. Their attention to detail, warm energy, and effortless ability to make guests feel at ease set this retreat apart. They’ve created a space that’s not just about beautiful surroundings but also about making people feel genuinely welcome.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-run retreat in nature with outstanding service, thoughtful touches, that is eco friendly, ethically conscious and has a meaningful story behind it, this is the place. I wish I had more time. Maybe next time!
